9.13.26 - 3D Printing Everything

Wow has my printer been getting a workout this week. I mean, it’s been used pretty consistently since I got it, but this week was just so much for the little guy.

So a trait that I have is I often default to doing something myself if I think it’s within my wheelhouse. Or bailiwick, if you’re my second level manager (he loves that word). This often means that when I identify a problem, and determine I could probably 3D print something to fix said problem, I often then decide “well, I could probably do the design as well.” Then, inevitably, I focus on other things, or spend time on the design but can’t quite get what I want, and then time trudges on and the problem is still there.

After realizing this about myself, I have started actively noticing when I do that, and then trying to pivot and say “hey, maybe somebody else has already made the model and I can just print it?”

AND WOULDN’T YOU KNOW IT, that’s often the case!

So yeah, I went and took advantage of the work that other people already did, and printed a bunch of stuff this week! Storage trays to organize a board game, a rack to hold lightsaber blades, a different, MODULAR rack to hold the lightsaber hilts.

Oh, and this little guy.

It’s a jewelry holder. I put rings in the drawers and hang bracelets on the tail. Not solving a problem, this one. Just fun!

I got some more writing done this week, nothing in Fox Squad though. Might get some content for that down today, but in the meantime, here’s a quote from something else I wrote.

“Jorgen and Forex gave a nod; well, Forex did as well as he could, considering he was a non bipedal battle droid.”

Au revoir,

Alex
