9.20.26 - How many TTRPGs is too many?
Hello hello everybody!
So the title question deserves some clarification. For those who don’t know what a TTRPG is, it stands for TableTop Role Playing Game, of which the most well known is Dungeons & Dragons. Now that we have that out of the way, I want to clarify what I meant by how many.
I did not mean how many different games I am playing, no no, I mean how many different SYSTEMS I am using at one time. So, D&D has a framework, the ruleset that is used for whatever types of stories you want to tell. But there are many OTHER frameworks that can ALSO be used to play a TTRPG.
And right now I am currently dabbling in three different frameworks. And not just playing in them, but preparing to run games in them.
And lemme tell you, I got to feelin’ real silly when I was asking my players in the D&D session to do things that made no sense to them, because those were things that are done with the Starfall framework!
Anyway, all the to say, I’m being probably dumb and planning on simultaneously running three different games in three different frameworks. Good luck to me.

In writing news, didn’t get as much done this week. Got some Fox Squad written though, and now am maybe 33% through? I’m not sure, my skeletal outlines don’t do a great job translating to actual progress. But you’ll get a quote from that at the end!

More 3D printing was done, including a lightsaber that was assembled with no glue, no paint (aside from one little ring that I painted copper), not even any sanding!
I even used TPU filament for the grip, which is a flexible filament, so it has a slightly rubbery feel.

That’s it for this week. And here’s your out of context quote. Be warned, it’s not a funny one this week.
Whether we find corpses or nothing at all, we will not find any survivors here.
Cheers,
Alex
