7.12.26 - Smooth Sailing

Hello hello everyone, and a splendid Sunday to you. Not a lot to talk about this week, because honestly, I spent a lot of my free time playing Mass Effect. But hey, still a couple of things, so let’s get into it!

Minas Tirith is complete! What, that was a couple of weeks of building? I don’t have a good estimate on actual build time, since I just build a bag or two here and there. Anyway, it was a very cool build and has quite the shelf presence, as you can see below.

The majesty of Gondor.

I also built a small set from a different brand, Lumibricks. It’s a somewhat new brand that their big selling point is that all of their sets have lighting included. They do a great job with the routing, and the price is pretty good too. Brick and build quality are also awesome. The set I built was a little fantasy “Ranger Camp” that had a light for the lantern and the campfire.

Another one of the many things I collect are action figures, and I’ve recently found some brands that are model kit action figures. They don’t require painting or gluing, but are still on sprues, like a standard model kit. You get that “assembly” experience without messing it up by being terrible at painting! Also the models have pretty good articulation, which is always a bonus. I made Bo-Katan Kryze from Star Wars this week.

Pew pew stab stab!

I’ve got another kit I haven’t opened that’s the Invisible Woman from Marvel Rivals, and this brand looks like they’re going to be ramping up their releases.

Outside of Mass Effect (and the stuff above), I did quite a bit around the house too. Installed some shelves, ordered some OTHER shelves, cleaned up some stuff, and did routine maintenance on my 3D printer.

Oh! I also ran a session of my TTRPG campaign today. We’re five sessions in, and it’s been pretty great. Always fun to see what things I prep for that they players don’t do, and visa versa.

That’s all for this week. Also, I won’t be posting next week because I’ll be in Colorado for my sister’s wedding! So see you in a fortnight.

Alex
