6.6.26 - A New Era!
And by new era, I mean a style of update that maybe I will actually keep up on! Will I? Will it fall into disrepair and languish in obscurity again? WHO KNOWS? But hey, good intentions and all!
Let’s get into it shall we?

I finished up the D&D crochet project I was working on: say hello to the Gelatinous Cube!
Goodness what a grumpy lil cube!
Pretty happy with how it turned out! I made the mistake of making the inner frame per the dimensions indicated by the pattern. As I have learned over and over again, I crochet tighter than most of the patterns expect. So I ended up with a frame that was a little bigger than I wanted, so I wasn’t able to stuff it nice and tight. Shoulda waited until I had finished most of the body before making the frame.
Ah well, still looks cute and angy.

Up next in crochet world is a dragon! I briefly tackled an e-reader pouch (also from the D&D book) but a combination of having the inspiration to make the dragon for potential Renaissance Faire visits and the fact that the e-reader pouch wanted me to do a crocodile stitch that I was VERY not successful on pivoted me off of that. Pouch will be next! Probably … if I can conquer the stitch >:(
Say hello to Lucius!
The dragon has a wire threaded inside so that I’ll be able to wrap it around my arm and have it hang out with me. Next up are the wings!

As for writing, I’ve been pushing to finish up Act I of my interactive sapphic romance novel. I’m using the program Twine, and somewhat recently went ahead and switched the entire framework from Harlowe to Sugarcube, which was mostly painless, but meant that a lot of the links had to be fixed, since some of the programming syntax is different between the two. Definitely a good choice though for what I want to do.
I’ve got 6 acts planned out, plus a prologue (already done) and epilogue. It’s going to be a lot of words, and a lot of words that the average reader/player won’t see! I also have to keep myself from getting too ambitious on what I want to code into it. I’m working on making sure the “milestones” work, which are little in game achievements that you can unlock. Currently (in addition to writing), I’m trying to figure out a way that I can have a pop up for when the milestone unlocks. I think I have the logic figured out for it, but still need to implement!
Not really any pictures to give here so I’ll give a look ahead on what writing I’ll be working on. After I finish Act I and debug as best as I can, I’m probably going to jump back into my Star Wars: The Old Republic fanfic with Eko and Elara (Your Heartbeat Keeps Me Awake). I’d like to finish that, but that’s also quite a bit of writing, so I might try to pivot back and forth between that and Fox Squad Book 3.

That’s it for this week! See ya next!
