Bio: Born on the homeworld of the Sith Empire, Esmerelda grew up experiencing a juxtaposition of opulence and oppression. As she was middle class and human, she wasn’t harassed and treated poorly like many of the other species, but she wasn’t insulated from seeing such treatment like the higher class families were. This gave Esmerelda a complicated view on the Sith Empire, as she could see the harm and inequalities, yet she also could see that much of this was attributed to those who ruled the Empire, mainly the Sith themselves.

When she was able, she enlisted in the Imperial Academy, hoping to find a path that would move her up in rank, allowing her to attempt to influence some of the Empire’s laws and methodologies. Because she was a moral individual within a sea of cutthroat individuals with political motivations, her genuine attempts to ingratiate herself with others was assumed to be a mask.

It was these successes that caught the eye of Keeper, an overseer of a force of Imperial Agents, operatives who worked under the radar to further the agenda of the Empire. Ironically, Esmerelda’s attempts to make genuine allies was misinterpreted as skillful manipulation and deceit, attributes that were instrumental to being a successful Agent. Keeper contacted Esmerelda and offered her a role, promising that she would be able to shape the Empire with her actions. Although Esmerelda realized that she was not the type of person that was actually desired for this role, she accepted, deciding that if she could trick Imperial Intelligence about what her motives were, she may be able to use this role to truly make the difference she hoped for. With that, she was sent to Hutta, to persuade a local Hutt to throw his allegiance behind the Empire.
